What’s the difference between rancidity, bacteria, and mold in tallow?
Rancidity occurs when the fats break down over time, often due to exposure to heat, air, and light. This affects the scent and texture but does not mean bacteria or mold are present. Bacteria and mold require moisture to grow, which is why it’s crucial to keep your tallow-based products water-free.
Can tallow sugar scrubs clog my pipes?
Tallow is a fat, and like any oil-based product, it can solidify in cool pipes. To prevent buildup, rinse with warm water and occasionally flush your drain with hot water and dish soap. If you prefer extra caution, use the scrub before a shower so the warm water helps keep your pipes clear.
