From Kitchen Experiment to Skincare Revolution: My Journey with Tallow Bliss & Co.

Honoring tradition, embracing nature, and trusting God.

I’ve always believed in the power of nature to heal. My dad and grandpa were the same way—always searching for holistic approaches to wellness instead of reaching for conventional solutions. That mindset stuck with me, shaping how I care for myself and my family.

But my real journey into natural skincare began when my children were born. I started paying closer attention to what we were putting on our bodies, realizing that our skin—the body’s largest organ—absorbs everything we apply to it. That realization changed everything for me. I began researching ingredients, reading labels, and questioning the standards of the products we so easily trust. It shocked me to see what was allowed in American skincare and cosmetics compared to other parts of the world. Even today, I buy my makeup from Europe because their regulations and standards are far beyond what is permitted in the U.S.

Living in Michigan, I’ve struggled with dry skin, especially in the harsh winter months. I had tried everything, but nothing seemed to work as well as I wanted. That was until I discovered tallow. Once I started using it, I saw a dramatic difference—deep nourishment, lasting moisture, and skin that finally felt healthy again.

Being the kind of person who always thinks, Well, I can just make that myself, I dove into learning about traditional skincare and the benefits of grass-fed tallow. I quickly realized something surprising—no one in my area was making it! And if I was looking for this kind of product, surely others were too.

That’s when Tallow Bliss & Co. was born. I wanted to create something truly special—simple, effective skincare made with high-quality, locally sourced ingredients. I love supporting small businesses and farmers, so I source my beef suet from Michigan farms, ensuring every product I make is purely Michigan-made.

Through this journey, I can’t help but see God’s hand in all of it. He has provided everything we need in nature to nourish and care for our bodies. The more I’ve learned, the more I’ve been amazed at how perfectly He designed things. Tallow is more than just an ingredient to me—it’s a way to connect with God’s creation, honor time-tested skincare traditions, and steward the resources He has given us well.
